My grandmother is facing an imminent death. My mother and I are in Richmond, VA and she is in Seattle, Washington. We are so very much in grief as we have just heard the news from my aunts that her prognosis does not look good. We are on the verge of letting her rest in peace. However, the funeral services would be taken place at Washington, and we have no funds to travel to the service. I am unemployed, a full time college student and I won't be recieving my student loan until the middle of January. My mom is also unemployed, suffering from COPD, and so my father is working on one income and is in no position to pay for our flights there. I've checked into bereavement flights but they show absolutely no hope as the flights seem to cost more than what I've seen online! Is there any organization that helps families travel to see their loved ones, because I certainly do want to pay my respects and see her one last time. But even if I cannot, my mother deserves that at least.

hello, atussing. I'm very sorry to hear of your grandmother. While I don't have any helpful information for you, I did want you to know I'm thinking of you and your mom.
