      <description>&lt;p&gt;My children have lost their grandfather, but they were pretty little. Last year, they lost his dad, their great-grandfather, and that was more memorable. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My youngest, yesterday, came to me with tears in her eyes, telling me how she doesn't want to die. I told her my beliefs: that our energy stays on, it just can't use the body anymore, and instead, we get to fly. That seemed to make her, and me, feel better.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But how have others explained what happens? We are not religious ourselves, but we are spiritual. &lt;/p&gt;
