My children have lost their grandfather, but they were pretty little. Last year, they lost his dad, their great-grandfather, and that was more memorable.

My youngest, yesterday, came to me with tears in her eyes, telling me how she doesn't want to die. I told her my beliefs: that our energy stays on, it just can't use the body anymore, and instead, we get to fly. That seemed to make her, and me, feel better.

But how have others explained what happens? We are not religious ourselves, but we are spiritual.
