there are power companies that have assistance for customers with hardships, as I have learned from reading other persons with same situation & posted how they got help.
Hi everyone. I am glad I found this site -- I had no idea such a thing existed. My name is Angie and I live in Mississippi. I am a 21 year old college student and for a majority of my life, my mom has been taking care of my grandmother, who is now 90 years old. My mom quit her job a few years ago to do so and I am sure that many of you understand what its like to make such a decision. My grandmother has dementia and is bedridden. A few weeks ago, she was in the hospital for pnemonia and with the weather here set to get cold, it is the worse time to come into the dilema we have. Our floor furnace has been giving us problems and my mom had to have work done on it. However, as a result, finances were tight this month and our gas bill is overdue and unless we pay $186, our services will be disconnected. (Which is ironic considering the budget became tight when she needed work done on the gas-based furnace). My question is, does anyone know of any type of assistance to help us in this time of need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
