yes, type two (2 ) diabetics have used crookneck squash instead of taking their pill inorder to lower their glucose  or to control it  and  to hopefully cure it with diet and exercise time will soon tell ,must monitor your blood sugar frequently ( from now on ) and increase your protein and whole wheat  intake and  eat the squash raw as well as steamed with little or no salt ( sodium ) and unpeeled avoid white foods that are full of carbs. pay close attention to your body, in two or three weeks your body may start using its own insulin normally keep squashing  anyway its healthy for you in more ways than one and avoid the cravings and control your appettite with the squash, until people listen up and trust in the Lord, the voice of God we won`t  know what type of diabetes crookneck squash can help or even cure, this is my e-mail gary.brown65@yahoo.com

if  you  take the pill, inject insulin, install a pump? none of this will cure you of diabetes but just eating the crookneck  squash because you can`t  do both and you should`nt,just eat the squash without peeling it when your sugar is too high wait for one hour and recheck  it that`s all to it  ,avoid  green tea when eating the squash,i beleive it may slow down this break down of  sugar (glucose) or whatever is taking place i am not sure about  will or will not affect  the out come, i`m only sure of what works, you can be also if you have plenty of test strips a glucometer thats been calibrated for the strips you`ve purchased and the yellow crookneck squash  o`yeah and of course diabetes  with a high glucose reading  after eating  of at least  one hundred & sixty five ( 165 ) and  up start by eating at least eight to ten ounces of steamed crookneck squash checking your glucose  once every hour for three or four hours.p. s.  keep  some hard candy or orange juice just incase you eat more squash  than your body requires to perform the needed task,God Bless you,He gets the Glory for this one.

As an expert for this site and a diabetes nurse who just atended the American Diabetes Association annual international conference in S.F. wherein thousands of worldwide experts attended to share their research, I cannot recommend this approach.

Eating vegetables is healthy. Saying they will cure diabetes is dangerous. Everyone's diabetes is unique. You may have changed your eating habits for the better and thus, lowered your glucose. But that is not a cure. And for all the folks who require medication, please do not be mislead into thinking there is a quick fix for diabetes. We'd love to have it be so easy, but it is not. Individuals who are overweight with prediabetes may prevent getting diabetes through exercise and healthy eating. But once you have diabetes (in this case, type 2), you always have it. Plus, 80% of the beta cells, the cells in the pancreas that make insulin, are already destroyed at the time someone is diagnosed. For the remaining 20%, preservation of their function is key, through age-old approaches of healthy diet and regular exercise, and for most people, medication.

I watched a show about reversing diabetes on TLC or Discovery Health 3 or 4 years ago. A woman with diabetes was in very poor health due to the disease and was on the verge of losing her leg or foot or something. She heard about a program called Tree of Life ran by an M.D.and told her doctor she wanted to go. He strongly discouraged her and told her it was dangerous. She went anyway.

Her blood sugar was monitored daily by an M.D. 21 days later when she returned home, her doctor was amazed. She no longer had to take injections and her blood sugar was perfect. She had to completely change her eating habits and acknowledged that, if she returned to her old eating habits, her diabetes and related health problems would return.

The program was very expensive, but I don't remember how much.

I'm not vouching for the validity of the program. Do your own research and make your own informed decisions. But, if I ever get diabetes, I'm going through the program.
