Is there a gift you¹re secretly hoping to receive from family members for Mother¹s Day?
Instead of breakfast in bed, which my kids always attempt to do (and I end up helping them with and cleaning up afterwards), I would SO love it if someone else would cook breakfast, clean up the kitchen afterwards, and just let me sleep in and read in bed! That time to myself would be such a gift.
I don't like breakfast in bed either! If only they would all sleep in and let me get up early, all alone, and go for a long walk by myself. Then a family picnic later on -- with food that someone else prepares. That would be heaven.
I would just like a vase of beautiful fresh flowers. That gift appeals to all of my senses, makes me happy, and is something I rarely receive.
Picnic is a great idea amd would love a little of their time on a day for a chore I can't do...But most of all I'd like to spend some happy time.
I've got to admit, I'd like a real gift -- something girly like dangly earrings or a pretty scarf or a new watch; I never ever have the chance to get anything nice for myself anymore and it would be so nice to have a shiny package to open and something new that made me feel recognized and appreciated. Sorry if that sounds selfish and materialistic, but I just frump around so much doing all this work taking care of everyone and it would be nice to feel like the "honoree" with something frivolous to show off.
