my mother went into a nursing home in dec 2008 the house that she jointly owned with my father was sold was sold this month my parents are divorced. the divorce decree stated that upon sale of house my father gets half my mother gets half. i have power of attorney for my mother and i had to sign the papers on her behalf . they are sending the check for my mothers half to my house.is this her money or will medicaid eventually take it?she is using social security and medicaid for the nursing home
