I live in Miami Beach, with access to a car so can drive to where ever, seeking a support group for people taking care of their aging parents. I am surprised that I can't find anything in the area. Does anyone know of group that meets regularly where we can talk for an hour or so about what's going on? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I suggest you contact your local Area Agency on Aging. They are usually aware of such groups and can provide you with the location and time. We'd also love for you to participate here! It's not quite the same as something in-person, but there's a great group of caregivers here who provide lots of support. :-)

Thanks for the response and suggestion. I will give the agency a try. I stumbled on this site and am very impressed thus far. The check lists were amazing and really reminded me that while I thought I had it together, I don't have it together all in one place where I can find it easily. So, some organizing needs to be done. I posted an ad on Craigs List for a support group and have received one reply so far. I only posted the ad today so that was very encouraging. Even with just one other person I will go ahead and start the group. Who knows with word of mouth it could grow. Thanks again for response. I will definitely be coming back to this site again.
i'm in the same situation except my son is 18 and i do not know where to go to as well, just to talk to someone i find myself goin nuts sometime when i see what all my son go thru every day, i wish someone could help me, cindy
