Hello Marvin222,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolences!
You are smart to look for support after your loss. Our local information is here: http://www.caring.com/local If you don't find what you need there, I would suggest checking with your local hospital and/or elder care services as they may have resources for you as well.
Please check in with us and let us know how things are going for you.
*hugs*

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your sister. I have lost one as well, and can appreciate the roller coaster of emotions. I work in Genesee County, NY Go to this website www.co.genesee.ny.us
Click on "NY Connects Genesee Care Options" under the "Human Services" section and click on the "Document Library" link on the left side of the page. There is a list of Support Groups that might help lead you to something that would be beneficial.
For Monroe County, go to: https://www.peerplace.com/nyportal/portal.do?county_id=26&portletOrder%28rd%29=1 [peerplace.com] Click on their Resource Directory and perhaps that will be helfpul to you.
Best wishes to you and your family. The pain never goes away, you just learn how to cope with it. The waves of loss & sadness will calm over time. Be very patient with yourself. "The Firsts" (first anniversary, birthday, holiday, etc.) are the worst. Let yourself have a good old cry whenever you feel like it, but allow yourself moments of joy too.

"The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain."
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. "
