Advice for evaluation institution to assisted living institution transition

Does anyone have any advice for the transition between a evaluation facility and a live-in long-term alzheimers assisted living facility. I think that is where we are headed due to nurse's general information. We are totally clueless as to handle this with Mother, who is convinced she's fine, combative and argumentative at times. We are expecting the worse and are open to any and all suggestions of what to do...personally and for her. I'm sure the drs will tell us what to do medically. I am 10 hours away from "home" with a f/t challenging, all-consuming job and need advice.
