Help! I have been correcting her and telling her I'm Jennifer your daughter not sis. How should I respond? I keep calling her mom at every opportunity but it doesn't click anymore
J have learned to just be whomever my mil thinks I am (within reason). If you start to get caught up in details it only gets more difficult
I agree. Making it a big deal will only confuse her more. It's not that big of a thing. I tell my mom I'll be you r sister but your stil my mother. She will look at at me and just smile. so many other things to worry about I don't sweat the small stuff.
I have been sister for quite awhile now. I'm a familiar face and I sure dont want to add to the confusion. My mom was placed in a care unit last Friday. I 've got to say she is fine with the whole thing. We thought she would be fighting all the way. I think we actually were able to keep her at home for as long as she needed. She hasn't once mentioned she wants to go home( she did this often in her own home) Now to deal with her animals and belongings of 84 years. I need to keep reminding myself she is not dead but I still need to clear her things as she was. Give me strength. Every drawer every corner I turn I'm reminded of what an involved person my mom was. Orchids, bookclubs,on and on we go. Cest la vive A new chapter is beginning and my mom is content
Glad to hear everything is going well for you. It must be hard to finally realize she needs more supervision. My mom is getting to that point also so it won't be long we will be looking for alternative living arrangements. We have moved mom & dad from their home to an assisted living and now to our house so downsizing can be quite trying. I pray for you that everything continues to go well.
Thanks and the same for you. It is a struggle for family members especially! Seems there is no end to my memories LOL
wow , this is unreal ! I will soon publish a book, and these articles have motivated me to really get to it. I know what's going on, and I will let you all know when I do publish it ok ?
love you all, and hope you the best until then. It's all very simple and.............
Thats exactly what my bro and I have been talking about
