I have a parent that has some mental difficulty and we are not sure what her actual diagnosos is. She has has several instnces that have concerned us and we know now that they are concerning neighbors as well. Mom lives in a close knit community and we know now that the rumor mill has Mom front and center.
Certain occassions have happened where police and fire men have been to the house. Either a near fire or an accidental tripping of an alarm have caused area residents to be alarmed to the point of considerable harassment when any of us children arrive to stop and fix a meal or clean up the house or lawn.
How concerned should we be and how much trouble can they make? Can they sue us or take us to court? We will soon be enlisting the services of a home care agency but the insurance red tapt is holding thigs up.
