Thank you so much for sharing your story! It's helpful to know, we're not alone out there, and everyone's experiences help us to understand our own. What a neat thing that it was called Angel's View. I am sure he was there with you, memories fully restored, and was so proud of you. :)
I recently found this webpage when I was looking online at the news. I am very glad that there are support groups out there for alzheimer's. My dad was diagnosed with ad at the age of 53 after a car accident while I was still in high school and my family and I did not have a cule what it was and how a person gets it . But we did research on it and tried to help my dad the best we could. But we did not realize that it could go a fast as it did. My dad past away at the age of 56, about six months from my 21 st birthday and my wedding day. It is hard to lose a loved one but I know my mom, my brother, my sister and our loved ones ,our families were there for support and I was there for them - keep your family close and spend every bit of time that you have with them and your love one that is ill because you may not know when it will be the last time. I spent 3-4 days a week with my father and there were days that it was very tough then there was days that I could not get enough of his laughs, cherish every moment! Because even though my dad maybe couldn't respond I felted that he could hear me or understand me underneath the alzheimer's diease. I would not change anything I did with him through the good or the bad. The only thing I wished I could have changed is the AD. It has been very hard for my mom,bro., sis., and me but, it has been a lit over 2yrs since he past and we have stuck together and we celebrate the day he past away as a celebration of life and that he will always be with us.
Even though I lost my dad to this horrible disease I believe that I was blessed to have gotton to spend the time that I did with him, he was a great dad and great person. I still got married on my orignial wedding day with my family at my side and my brother who said he would be honored to walk me down the aile. It was a great blessing and I even got a new addition to our family - my sister had a lit. girl ( almost 2 yrs old now)a month before and out of all the places we found for weddings there could have not be a better place it was called ANGEL'S VEIW WEDDING CHAPEL with a great big window at the alter looking out at the sky.
