Hi Jennifer,
I just did a quick search on it and can't find anything! What have you heard?
Has anyone heard of new research stating that a prune a day will pevent the onset of this disease?

They also tell of raisins, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. See Prevention magazines in2008--there are also some good recipes in some of them. Katrina
Unfortunately there's no magic food to prevent virtually any disease. With Alzheimer's, some studies have shown that antioxidants (found in berries and other fruits, among other foods) might play a protective role in the brain but no direct link, and there haven't been any good longterm studies. The mechanism responsible for the development of Alzheimer's isn't even understood yet. It does look like avoiding obesity is a key way to lower your risk, so any well balanced diet that helps you do this would be effective -- but I wouldn't make prunes a part of it unless you really liked them!
