Bio

I am a retired elementary teacher in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin system.  My parents own their own home and have lived there for 50 years.  They have been married for 60 years.  Dad has fragile physical health and needs knee replacement.  His heart and kidneys are making surgery risky and ill-advised.  Mom has Alzheimers and is totally dependent on Dad for emotional and financial support and guidance.  Her physical health is quite good.  As the older of two daughters, I live nearby.  My sister is a hospice care nurse, well-trained in handling situations such as my parents, for other families.  She lives 3.5  hours from town and is generally 'unavailable' for various reasons of her own.  So caregiving is primarily up to me.
