I was struck by something reading another post about Euthanasia which is that sometimes we miss chances to go with dignity and sometimes we don't.
Sarah, a very dear friend had a cervical cancer which went into remission, then a brain anuerism which was surgically fixed, then liver cancer. (i'm summarizing here) She and with agreement of her family in a few moments of clarity decided enough was enough, checked out of the hospital and had a pain free and really beautiful exit in about a week or so.
She could have accepted treatments of various sorts to extend her life but somehow everyone was willing to let go.
How do we know when its enough? How do we honor that?
