You might also try finding out if she has a favorite drink that she doesn't always have available .. My grandfather rufused his meds with the nurses but everyday I would bring him a Dr. Pepper, which was his favorite and I would tell him that he could have it only if he took his meds with it..

I never had a problem after that until the very end..

Just an idea..

Hi Star,

Does she have any favorite foods or foods she'll at least consistently eat? Perhaps you can grind the pills up and hide them in there? Before doing that, though, consult with her doc or at least a pharmacist. Some medications are time-released and crushing them will affect the way they are metabolized.

Another idea is talking to her docs and family about her non-compliance with taking her meds. Maybe there are some changes that can be made to make it easier. If she's taking something twice a day, for example, maybe there's something else she can taken once a day, at least only making you face this battle once rather than twice.

hello,

Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how to convince my lady to take her medication when she refuses. She has alzheimers.
