The job of a caregiver is a tough one! I don't think anyone will argue, So it's no wonder we're sometimes prone to do things we wouldn't necessarily advertise to other loved ones, doctors or friends. I'm not talking about anything illegal, of course. I'm thinking of things more along the lines of skipping a bath, opting to wash dad up instead, to save yourself the battle you know will ensue since he hates bathing. Or maybe you hide necessary medications in food to skip the daily conversation about how mom doesn't want to take them.
Consider this thread a safe place to "confess". Heck, your confession could end up being a good idea for someone else!
Let me start...
My dad has high cholesterol, blood pressure and heart disease. The man positively refuses to eat well. So when I cook for him, I always slip some vegetables in food he likes without him knowing. I love the cookbook Deceptively Delicious because it has recipes for hamburgers and macaroni and cheese both with purreed cauliflower in them. I've also made some yummy chocolate cupcakes with avocado in them! Litttle does he know... Mwahahahaha!!!!
