We were just visiting my grandparents this weekend and they let us know that someone in their church let folks know that in order to receive the federal rebate funds, they had to file a tax return to get it, even if they owe no taxes. We were very happy to learn that someone had spearheaded this with the elderly of my grandparents' community - has anyone else heard of coordinated efforts to make sure the message is getting out and everyone is getting their money?

My 94 year old mother got a 1040 form from IRS to fill out. She got her check in September 2008.
