My mother had a breakdown and was hospitalized. The psychiatrist told her that she could not live alone so she came to live with my husband and me. My husband passed away and the children went away to college. I sold her home and my home and we moved into a small townhouse. I retired after my husband passed and then got a different job continuing to work to pay the bills. Mom is on a very limited income so I support her and myself. I drive her to all her appointments, buy the food, and pay for all the house related bills and taxes. She pays for her additional medical insurance. It has put a strain on my budget and I actually work two jobs now to keep up with everything.
