My mother is 83 and has not been feeling as young as she used to. She naps often during the day, her walking is slow and unsteady, her hands don't work so well and her legs hurt.
She's seen every kind of doctor, and they don't think she has Parkinson's (but they're not sure) and they don't know any more than that. Her catscan and MRI look clean (no stroke).
My mom is miserable because she's not "getting better," and continues to ask doctors and pharmacists and friends for miracle pill ideas.
I of course hate to see her so unhappy, and wonder: should I let her continue to long for and hope for a miracle "cure" to whatever she's got, or encourage her to accept it and enjoy what time and abilties she's still got.
Note - she's already on Levidopa for Parkinson's even though they dont think she has it.
