Hi Jenni,

Welcome to Caring's groups. I'm really glad you joined us.

I'm so sorry that your family is dealing with mom's cancer. Do you think maybe your dad would be open to going to a support group? Some guys are pretty stand-offish about all that "feelings" stuff, but it may be of huge comfort to him to talk to others who are in the same situation or have gotten through it. They may also be able to offer some tips for care giving.

I have been trying to help my Dad who has had prostate cancer (now a survivor) to cope with my Mom's cancer. She was diagnosed with Transitional Cell Cancer. She had her left kidney and uretar removed along with some lymph nodes. He has been really grateful for the help I have given him so far. I just would like to know if there is a way to get him out of his depression. This has taken a big tole out of him and me. I have been there every day for the both of them. My Mom is in a caring facility now for rehab before she starts on chemo. Any suggestions will be helpful.
