My Father has non lymphoma in stage 4 and his platelets are around 39000 and they still are doing chemo is this wise?

I'm so sorry your dad is dealing with this. 
I don't know specifics on platelet levels, but I'm hopeful others will have some advice for you. Have you considered calling your dad's doc and having him/her explain it to you? Be vocal about your concerns!
