There's so much breaking news about the brain... posted by Lisa B @ 03:27 PM February 29, 2008

I agree! It's awseome to hear all this breaking news but sometimes it's all a bit overwhelming also ! My youngest son has hyperlexia (similar to Asperger's) and there just seems to be this enormous vast of information about the workings of the brain out there. You can definitely get lost in it :)

But overall, it's so exciting and I hope that it's sooner than later that we start unlocking all these mysteries like Alzheimer's and Autism and find a CURE !

Speaking of news links, I just came across this one today about grants that have been awarded for those working on developing technology for Alzheimer's patients :

http://scienceblogs.com/neurophilosophy/ [scienceblogs.com]

Lisa

There's so much breaking news about the brain... posted by Kirby F @ 06:47 PM February 04, 2008

Do you all try to stay on top of it? I've just found a few bloggers who cover these topis.

Some from a more human angle and another from a scientific perspective.

I know that it's certainly wise not to expect that there will be treatments/procedures available immediately, but it's still encouraging to see us building up a more complete picture of how our brains work.

Here are a couple blogs I've just put into my feed-reader:

A science student's blog illuminating new research into how the brain works. [scienceblogs.com]

A caregivers blog about Alzhemeir's that also covers emerging studies. [alzheimersnotes.com]
