My husband has vascular dementia, he would not do well in a day care at this time but is fine if we are with other people even though he really does not contribute to the conversation. I would love to meet for coffee once a week ,with my husband along and with other other caregivers and loved ones. We are new to the Jupiter, Fl. area and would love some conversation with other adults!

Hi Lin,
You might be interested in exploring support groups in your area? You could try here for starters... http://www.areaagency.org/ . Local area agencies on aging often have lists of great local resources and groups.... not quite the same as coffee, but maybe pretty good

Hi Lin,
Welcome to Caring's groups and thanks so much for posting! Another resource you may want to try is www.meetup.com [meetup.com]. You can plug in your zip code on the site as well as search words. There may be a thriving group in your area!

Greetings,
We live in the Orlando, FL area and I have my Mother-In-Law living with us and our 2 year old son who is 77 years old and refuses to accept or acknowledge she has Alzheimer's. Every day seems to be getting more and more stressfull with constantly appeasing her non stop questions. Having other people to socialize with would be very very helpful.
