Thanks for posting. I'm glad you found Caring's groups!

You know, I once read something written by a child of a parent with Alzheimer's. It was written with the tone of "If you don't laugh, you'll cry." She said she saved so much money by regiving her mom the same gifts year after year. Mom would unwrap, be thrilled, then try to throw the gifts away. Her daughter would confiscate them, hide them, rewrap and regive. Lather, rinse, repeat. While that's sad, it's also kind of sweet. She (and you) knows what makes mom happy. It doesn't matter if it's regiven gifts or keeping old cards out. It's the delight that matters! I'm happy you're able to do that for her!

We made sure to give my Mother-In-Law lots of cards and she reads them every day and is convinced she had never seen them before. The cards are great comfort for her though so we keep them out for her to re-read daily.
