Wayne is my ex-father-in-law and grandfather of two of my three children. His son and I were together for 12 years and remain very close friends as well as parents to two beautiful children. Wayne has 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He is retired military and now works civil service.

Wayne was diagnosed last week with lymphatic cancer and he also has a spot on his lung and a lesion on his liver. He is scheduled for a PET scan on 9-23-09. We will know more after this appointment.

I have had several family members who have had cancer (some survived and some did not). I am also an RN student who is due to graduate in May of 2010 so I do have some knowledge of cancer.

I ask only that your thoughts and prayers are extended to Wayne and his family in this critical time. God Bless you all and know that I am praying for all affected by cancer and other life-altering diseases.
