I want to continue to work on Patrick's behalf to find a cure and give life to others. I was lucky enough to share the screen with him in "Road House" and "Point Break" and want to take that sweet energy to this cause. Julie Michaels

Patrick Swayze, his family and friends, and many of us have endured the suffering of Cancer. We can work together on a cure for our children's future. Bless you, Julie, for initiating this cause. I am certain he smiles from heaven and spreads comfort to his family from above.
I feel for Patricks wife, family and friends as this is a terrible cancer and it was the cancer that also took my beloved Mothers life June Rose Thorsby. I HOPE one day there is a cure for this and all other cancers. Patrick you will always be remembered for your wonderful movies that intertained us but mostly for the brave battle you have fought with this cancer. One day we will meet in that wonderful place called HEAVEN.
My husband died of pancreatic cancer May 6, 2009. It took 11 months for the cancer to spread to his liver, kidney, and brain. This is the most horrible cancer. It consumes the body before you know what is happening, even before the doctors can diagnose it. Two months before my husband was diagnosed, his blood work was clean of any cancer. TWO months!! An early diagnoses test must be developed and soon. To be cured, it must be diagnosed early. Patrick was lucky. He had 20 months. My late husband's brother-in-law died of pancreatic cancer within six weeks of diagnoses. I hope and pray for early diagnoses so we can kill the cancer. 24 years of marriage was not long enough.
It was so heartwarming to see Patrick and his lady together. I so strongly admire them both for their devotion to each other and their devotion toward their personal battle with cancer. There has been cancer in my family also. Cancer affects the entire family, all suffer. I know Patrick is now with his Creator, God Bless him. My prayers go to his lady and other family members, those who must survive the loss. One day, I do believe, cancer will NOT be a death sentence.
I'm happy that my article about Patrick Swayze was able to reach so many people. I was of the generation that swooned to Dirty Dancing and have followed his career ever since. When he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he was as brave and open as he was about everything else, telling everyone right away and not trying to hide from the cameras or press. I was truly impressed by his attempts to continue living his life to the fullest while in the public eye, and using his public presence for the greater good. My thoughts are with his wife of so many years, Lisa; for those who've had to watch a loved one die of cancer, the suffering doesn't end. Let's light candles in our hearts for Lisa, too.
OMG!!! I have always and i mean always admired Patrick. May God put his arms around you Lisa and watch over you through these times.im sure Patrick has his wings and is not suffering anymore. he will always be remembered by so many. He was a fighter and was very strong. my prayers are with you and the family. God Bless You Lisa. God will help you through this. you are a very strong woman to. with love and prayers. Teresa.
I have always been a huge fan of Patrick since he was in North and South. I remember living in New Jersey at the time, the read the comments about his acting capability in the newspaper. I have never responded to any comments before, but felt so strongly about his acting that I sent a very strong response to the newspaper article defending him. I have been so proud of him in all of his roles ever since. God bless you Lisa, I admire your and Patrick's marriage and time spent together. You were perfect for each other.
Patrick, I will miss your on-screen talent. Your cool presence and bright smile could bring success to the most anxious and uncertain of situations. From "The Outsiders" to "Point Break," and so much more, you will forever be remebered as one of the greats! Thanks for all the fascinating moments.
my mom is currently living out her last agonizing days with pancreatic cancer. Her heart broke when Patrick died . When she was diagnosed she sadly sighed and said at least i have something in common with Patrick. My parents have spent 40 beautiful years together. on the eve of her death my father was fired from his job. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who is going through this horrible disease. Lisa we are crying with you at this very moment.
David 'Fathead' Newman-great jazz sax musician died of pancreatic cancer on January 20, 2009 after hearing Obama's inaugural speech. What a blessing for us Newmans. Rest in forever peace David, Patrick and all others who died from this horrible disease.Prayers for a cure. Karen Newman
I send my love and prayers for Lisa, I am enduring the last stages of a spoue with Alzheimer's so I can relate to the helplessness and ongoing grief. I do not know how it can be done, but we must have some early intervention and possible cure for these horrible diseases.
I'm sending lots of warm thoughts to those Patrick has left behind. I, too, was a big fan. Dirty Dancing was *thee* movie of my teenage years. Patrick will surely be missed on screen and, I'm sure, leave a tremendous absence among those he loved. Thank you for lighting this candle and giving everyone a place to express their condolences.
I would just like to say how sorry I am for Patricks wife and family I understand how heartbreaking it can be to lose a loved one to pancreas cancer I stood and held my uncles bed as he passed at the age of 48 its a horrible thing to go threw it was hard enough with my uncle little lone losing your soul mate after 34 years together my thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa and the rest of Patricks family
"I want to last until they find the cure" is my inspiration now. I am 46 year old diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 8 months ago. I loved Patrick as much as I loved his dancing and his acting. I also love to dance and being diagnosed around the same time as Patrick was going through the treatment and then dying, it must have been a karma. I'd like to call myself very positive but dealing with this deadly disease wanted me to give up until recently. First of all the treatment I go through although new and still in clinical trials is working. The tumor and the modules in the liver are shrinking. But now I also see that I COULD be one to be cured. And that's why I am NOT giving up. I do want to continue dance until I can. I want to last until they find the cure. I may not be as famous as Patrick but I do have more than one thing in common now, and it's not just the cancer. Remember, Lisa "The love inside, you take it with you" .
