I am 53 years old and a 29 year testicular/lymphatic cancer survivor. My neighbor had stage 4 throat cancer 2 years ago. It was a difficult and sometimes seemingly hopeless journey for him. My advise to him was to stay positive, look at it as a BIG speedbump but when you get over it, life will be smooth driving. It won't be fun. But, have faith in your doctors, your beliefs and STAY strong. With the different treatments you will lose weight and probably most of your hair. However, they will come back. Kathryn, you need to stay positive and understand that he might become short -tempered at times. This will be a very frustrating time for both of you. However, this is a short term detour and soon life will be back to normal. I'll treat you to a round of golf when you feel better ! By the way, my neighbor is doing fine and back to life as usual only with a brighter outlook.
