Candle Story for christine cessna (sister)

colleen2 made this candle.

Not many can claim that they were sent the perfect little sister. Christine Elizabeth came into this world on august8, 1957 and died April 15, 2007. chris was a teacher- high school english and journalism. Throughout her fight with cancer, she lived in Colorado - I was in Maryland taking care of my very ill mother. The school dropped her to part-time when her 1st round of chemo and radiation kept her home a lot. Her cancer first appeared in 2000. She recovered until December 2006 -the canncer returned very aggressive in her spine, bones and brian. Ironically, the cause of death was a fall- she had been given morphine in a rehab center and the nurse left the bed rails down. Chris fell out of bed and suffered a cerebral hemmorhage. We found out she had died by calling the rehab center when Chris did not answer the phone. My mom called and the nurse said Chris had just died 5 minutes ago. Mom startde crying and gave the phone to me. As a former nurse, I was fuurious - about the bed rails and telling my mother the news that way. Her own family (husband and son) did not even know yet. As chris' celebration of life by the school, kids stood up and read individual tributes to Chris. The one that got to me was a young boy who said if it was not for Mrs. Chris, he would be dead! He was contemplating suicide and Chris got him the help he needed and she listened to him. He cried that she had been there for him but he could not be there for her when she needed someone. Oh, I miss her. Every minute of every day, she is on my mind. I cannot acept that she is gone. Any ideas on how to cope?
