Candle Story for my mother

As the contrariest old person I ever had to take care of, and I was a caregiver for others for over 10 years. God help her to become someone I can love again. God help ME to be able to love a person who is oftentimes a pretender, who DELIBERATELY and from a place of awareness does things to annoy, aggravate and inflame the daughter who has sacrificed years to take care of her. She does these things because it amuses her to see my patience finally break. It gets her attention . When I call her on it, after I am broken, she admits she does it "for meanness". I watch her sly evil smile and shudder that it amuses her to break my spirit. She's been this way most of her life, the only exception was when she went to church, which she refuses to do now. She has not a grateful bone in her body. She's mean spirited, manipulative and may God have mercy on her soul., because I cannot.
