Candle Story for my mom, Hazel Young Morrison

morethanuknow made this candle.

My mother is a very strong, independent, stubborn woman who refuses to give in to this mind cripling disease. My mother whoom my sister and I have begged to come back to Ky with us so that we can take care of her refuses to leave her home in Indiana, she says she needs no help, it breaks our hearts....But the biggest thing that has broken our heart is the fact that someone we trusted, by law it would be our sister, whose name is Sherelle promised to stay with our mom and take care of her, and let me tell you, she took care of her alright. This post is not only a candle for my mom and Alzheimer's awareness but for Elder Abuse Awareness. Elder Abuse comes in all forms and the ones you trust the most will sometimes be the ones you can not trust at all, a very hard lesson learned...Long story short..My mom had plenty of funds to take care of herself financially and it took years of saving and doing without to save this money and it took only 1 year for my so called adopted sister to drain her and leave her pennyless and i do mean pennyless but the real kicker as if defrauding my mother and threatening her with never seeing her grandchildren again, was now my adopted sister moved out from my mom, left her high and dry, no money, phone is on disconnect, water is on disconnect and also lights and gas are to be turned off which I just found out today....It is beyond me how people especially family can treat their sick family member in such horrifying manner. My mother has also been denied ALL her medicines for over a month simply because until now everyone was afraid to tell me what was really going on, trust me I am packing for Indiana and will be on my way shortly. I guess the message in all this was Please be aware that Elder abuse does exist and it can happen to anyone, predators are out there every where and come in all shapes sizes and families !
