Red Light, Green Light
Two elderly women were out driving in a large car. Both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red but they just went on through.
The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself, "I must be losing it, I could have sworn we just went through a red light."
After a few more minutes they came to another intersection, and the light was red again. Again they went right though. This time the woman in the passenger seat was almost sure the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous and decided to pay very close attention to the road and the next intersection to see what was going on.
At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was definitely red, and they went right through. She turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred! Did you know we just ran through three red lights in a row! You could have killed us!"
Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh, hell, am I driving?"

LOL too cute :)
Funny it is, but I do agree with the first commentor about the seriousness of the issue. I looked into it once a was told by someone the red tape for this kind of issue would probably be best left to doctors and family. However that puts us right back where we are now. Not good at all.
The reality of this joke, however, is not funny but tragic. Too many older persons are putting others in danger because of inattentiveness, slow reactions, driving errors, etc. I am 64 and have given up driving because of health reasons and the medications that I take. I believe seniors should have recurring driving tests, cognitive tests and physical reaction tests to determine their ability to control a lethal weapon. Also, a review of medical history and medications should be made in conjunction with a renewal, not just a quick eye chart read. I am also in favor of a progressive driver's license program for teenagers, especially in high traffic areas. They would eventually receive a full license at 21. Then on the other side begin the back off of senior driving privileges,, say 60 Driving becomes very problematic in Arizona when the "snowbirds" or better known as the "slow-birds" move in for the winter months.
Yes, nothing better than a good laugh, and it's free. Thanks!!
I appreciate your stories. It brightens the day. Thanks for sharing.
