Meds can change your PFP's entire personality. Does s/he compulsively buy knick knacks or expensive boats, cars, houses. Is s/he gambling? A lotto ticket a week can quickly become several maxed credit cards (taken in YOUR NAME) to gamble online. Agonists can make your "straight arrow" become promiscuous. If you, the Caregiver, are overwhelmed...enlist professional help, starting with your Movement Disorders Neurologist. Ask to discuss these issues without your PFP in the room...especially, if you cannot force her/him to modify behavior. National organizations and pros won't be "nitty gritty" about this. So, I will tell you that I know several situations that ended in bankruptcy, families split asunder & suicide. Soc Granny, *PFP

I agree...this is the first I've seen of this, and it explains a lot. My dad compulsively buys junk food. The more he's told to eat healthy food, the more he buys. The kitchen is overflowing with it. He is about to have his driver's license taken next week, after a scary interstate incident. I guarantee he'll freak out about not being able to go out and buy food.
