after undergoing carotid artery bypass in 2004, my husband remained with short term memory. The doctor(s) that have treated and the one currently taking care of him say he has moderate dementia. Still the other s say he has alzheimer's. My husband was perfect before his surgery. I maintain something went wrong during surgery causing him to now have short term memory. He is being treated with meds for alzheimer patients.
