Thanks for this information. Its all sort of overwhelming, I guess since my diagnosis is new (although considered for a time by my movement specialist neurologist). As someone above said, its good to see this information again and again. I think that will eventually get it set in my head or brain, rather. Oh well, onward.

I have read rthis information beforee but it helps to go over it again and I can print out info for my family members.

I recall the neglect of a family doctor. He had prescribed Mellaril for a male patient. The prescription was renewed regularly for 5 years. Not once during this period was a blood test carried out. The result, the drug had triggered parkinsons disease. It was then too late to stop the parkinsons from progressing

Specifically, what to look for when the positive effects of Carbidopa/Levidopa begin to wear off. I really like to be forewarned so that I am able to communicate more effectively with my mom's neurologist.

The fact that medicine cure our sickness, it can also destroy our helath safety. In a lawsuit filed on Tues, a French male is suing drug-maker GlaxoSmithKline. The proof is here: fifty-one-year-old French man says Requip made him a sex addict http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2011/02/01/french-man-requip-sex-addict/ 51-year-old French man claims Requip made him a sex addict. The man claims that a drug he was taking transformed his character. The court action cites several changes in personality that this man faced. This includes change in sexuality, addiction, and gambling.

The link to the pdf file does not appear to work. The link below should take you to the previous page where you can open that file: http://www.parkinson.org/Parkinson-s-Disease/Treatment/Medications-for-Motor-Symptoms-of-PD If this doesn't work, try a cut and past into your browser window.
