As a survivor of stage 3 C Ovarian cancer I am very aware of the need for information. I am glad to hear someone getting the word out. I talk to people about the early signs of ovarian cancer any time I get the chance. If any thing I say can spare (or prepare) someone what I've been through it will be a blessing in my life.

My wife suffered from reason #11 - "Excessive bruising that doesn't stop" for a period of almost a year. The doctor told her she had a condition that they called "ITP". She worked for a hospital and only after she passed out ay work on a Saturday morning did they run tests and found out that she had leukemia. This was the last week in April, 2009 and she passed away in August, 2009. My questions are : What exactly is this "ITP"? Does ITP mirrow leukemia closely enough that they made an unfortunate mistake in their diagnosis or did they make a grave mistake which cost my wife her life and me the love of my life and best friend? I am afraid to know yet I must ask and know. Please help.

A very important list with simple explanations, just the type of clues that one might not mention to their Doctor, or be overlooked in the hurry up exams, that take place with modern medicine.

What a great article - thanks for sharing these symptoms. I feel the pain of each of the people who commented on this article. I lost my mom at 19 to lung cancer - such a sad and tragic part of my life.My dad has been battling bladder cancer, lost my aunt to stomach cancer, my step mom just was diagnosed with breast cancer. Agree that you have to listen to your body and push when you know something isn't right. I've been researching ways to prevent cancer and am now passionate about sharing tips and tricks based on research via my blog. It's basically focused on diet and exercise...there are things we can all do to help ourselves have a better chance at not getting cancer. check it out and comment if you would like to contibute at http://kerryschimmelbusch.com

This article was very helpful to me because you never know if you may have something if it is on your body, you feel strange, your not behaving like yourself, and other essential things that you may not pay any attention to. It is most important to be aware of your body and what's going on with it and any strange changes should not be looked over.

Ladies, this is so true. In 2005 in IL, I thought I had a great nurse practitioner that did my yearly exam. But as I wandered down menopause lane, I was bleeding 3 out of 4 wks. a month and had a runny Karo syrup kind of discharge. She thought my system was upset by menopause kept putting me on hormone patches. In Jan. 2006, shortly after moving to NM, I went to a GYN for my check up & within 3 wks. I had a transvaginal ultrasound, a biopsy and a hysterectomy. She said I was ONE CELL CHANGE away from having uterine cancer along with several other problems needing repair. Who knew? Certainly not my old care giver. I thank God for that Dr. every day. So if you're Dr. is ignoring your complaints then seek another Dr. I am an RN of 27 yrs. and knew something wasn't right but no one would listen!

I advise all women to not ignore any of these signs! I lost my "healthy" wife a short five months after diagnosis of kidney cancer, that had spread to her liver. Her symptom was a back ache which she ignored. She then developed a blood clot in her leg, which led to a chest x ray that found the tumor. The doctor explained that kidney cancer is found 60% of the time by accident following what seems are unrelated symptoms. Please do not neglect yourself. She is sorely missed as a loving daughter, sister, mother, and wife.

Please see another Doctor, if nothing agreed upon, then see another Doctor. Read most of these comments, you find people don't get properly diagnosed. Health issues you have mentioned are possibly serious and gut feelings are sometimes correct. See another, see another, see another. Until you feel you have done everything possible to get the right answers, and finally feel right & peaceful about those answers.

I was dignosed with breast cancer in 1993, no family history of cancer, no lump, negative ultrasound, and mamogram. Only a sharp pain once in a while. I went from doctor to doctor for 2 months, read a Dear Abby letter of a woman dying because nobody listening to her syntoms, similar to mine. I demanded an excition to do a biopsy, showed my doctor the letter, was done it was cancer. The oncologist I was sent told me that was all I needed. I went back to my surgeon and told her I was a mastectomy and chemo, she agreed, not very happy, during surgery a second cancer was found larger, diferent and invasive. I did my chemo, my doctor cried holding my hand, because everybody including my husband saw me as a crazy woman.

Addressing Max1234 - # 1 Get a female doctor who specializes in women's gynecological issues. Ask for a Trans Vaginal Uterine Ultrasound exam and a CA125 Blood Test. I had had many of the same symptoms you are experiencing except for the spotting as I was already post menopause. I am 59 now but in 07/07 was found with a 'footballnerfsize tumor at the ovary but on top of the uterus. It was found in tact but the surgeon says he spilled it and therefore recommended I take 6 cycles of chemo to be on the safe side of not have accidentally spread it. Doing fine, but I need to lose weight. Do not give up. You will find the right kind of doctor who will do the right kind of tests. do not give up. Also get a colonoscopy done to be sure it has not caused trouble with the colon.

Ovarian Cancer is one of the most mis-diagnosed cancers that I know of. I, now have stage four cancer that originally started as breast cancer. This is my second go around with chemo etc.... My own reoccurance of cancer was left untreated for 6 months because doctors kept saying that nothing was wrong. I urge you to seek other medical advice. I have several friends who were told to go home and take a laxitive. In several cases, they had ovarian cancer. While it is true that generally cancer is not norm, do not take a, "you're fine" diagnosis as Gospel. My aggressive cancer was not addressed until early this year. It should have been found 6 months before. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I though I was addressing my symptoms, but the doctors refused to look further. In addition, I have a heart that now functions at 30% due to Herceptin. Be pro-active and get a second opinion!!! Have someone address your symptoms until the cause is found, or you are cured.

Thank you for this article it was very informative. I have a family history of several different cancers including my mom who was diagnosed with ovarian in 2008 and had the operation, chemo and radiation. I have several of the symptoms that she had prior to her being diagnosed which I brought to my doctors attention but he seems to think that it is all in my head. I am worried to death that when they finally find out that I have cancer that it will be too late. I have bloating for several years, spotting even though I have not seen a period for over a year now, extreme fatigue, hair falling out, chest pains and out of breath for just walking up my stairs, lower back pain for quite some time, excessive burping for several months now, feeling full all the time and urinating frequently. I am 49 years old and just feels sick all the time I have no energy even though I take vitamins. I am overwhelm, I am scared and have no faith in doctors. The doctors say that it is menopause. Please help me. I cry all the times because I know that something is wrong.

There are no symtoms for Glioblastoma Multiforme (Brain Cancer), you know it as the Ted Kennedy cancer! I know it as my 50 year old sister with two young kids and loving husband cancer. As I know all cancer is bad and my heart goes out to anyone who has sufford and those that will. But there is very little visability for this type. Brain tumors strike men, women, and children of any race, at any age; Brain tumors are the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among children under the age of twenty; Each year, more than 63,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor and more than 600,000 people in the US are currently living with a primary brain tumor. Symptoms of a brain tumor can include headaches (recent, new, or more severe than usual), seizures (in a person who does not have a history of seizures), cognitive or personality changes, eye weakness, nausea or vomiting, speech disturbances, or memory loss. While these are the most common symptoms of a brain tumor, they can also indicate other medical problems. If you would like more information regarding Brain Cancer or Tumors please go to: http://www.braintumor.org/ Thanks for listening! God bless

I wish I had known some of this earlier as reading the Lung Cancer symptoms my Dad has most of those and by the time we found out he had lung cancer it was already in Stage 4. He did last for 4 years, but I think he would have beat it if we had found out earlier.

Please, please be your own best advocate. I just finished aggresive treatment for Hodgkin's Disease. I had to HOUND my doctor for 8 MONTHS before we realized that my lymphnodes were so riddled with cancer that I could eat, breathe or swallow. My hubby couldn't transfer (we're a Navy Sub family) and we have 3 young children at home. I was pushed aside, brushed under the rug. "You're tired because you have children" "You're severely sweating because it's hot outside" "the lumps in your neck are nothing"...AND YET...I was so sick and if it hadn't been for my husband's strength and my tenacity...who knows where I'd be now. DON'T GO DOWN WITH OUT A FIGHT!!!!

I would like to add that any vaginal discharge (after menopause) is worth investigating. My pap smear was normal, as was an ultrasound test. It took a CT-scan to find a half-inch uterine cancer tumor. Luckily it was completey contained within the uterus, and there was no lymph node involvement.

Hi lisacara, Thanks for your comment. Here is an Ask & Answer page all about getting cancer treatment with no insurance: (http://www.caring.com/questions/cancer-treatment-with-no-insurance). There are also various free clinics through out the United States that you can go to for medical assistance. To find one, I suggest doing a google search for "free clinics" in your area. My Mom just died of Liver cancer only 46 days after diagnose. She did not drink and had no unhealthy habits. She had inability to digest food was her only sign, like a regular stomache. Her doctor ignored her signs for 3 months. My sister in law has inflammatory breast cancer which the womens breast cancer center in our town missed. They told her it was a skin rash. Good advice for women is always get a second opinion as women are dismissed by the men in the medical field often. They sent her to a dematologist and they diagnosed the rash as inflammatory breast cancer after after lab test. My brother has rectal, colon and lung cancer, only signs were a backache. He has no unhealthy habits and was at the proper weight. Being aware of changes is important. Pay attention to signs. Good article.

I had an Ovarian tumor that was removed by surgery 7/9/07. Symptoms #6, 7, 15, but also the month before this was found, had 2 occasions of explosive diarrhea, times of unable to urinate, no pain there, just effort to do so. I went to Dr., they thought possible infection, prescribed broad antibiotic pill for a week. 3 days after finished that I had passed blood from colon. It was becoming ischemic from the pressure of the tumor. Cat scan suggested large fibroid sz of med. nerf football. Colonoscopy was good. Surgery removed it & total hysterectomy & 6 cycles of chemo were done because they considered it a Type 2 Stage 3, even though it had presented as only one intact tumor. But it had come apart as he lifted it out & had removed it. Almost 4 years ago. Doing okay so far, but I need to lose weight.

So many sites, like this one, insist on breaking articles into "screen size" chunks instead of letting users scroll through the entire thing as users would prefer. I think it's a transparent subterfuge to increase click count on a site without regard to users' preference or convenience. I should think that caring.com would be particularly sensitive to the needs of users who may have cognitive or physical deficits that makes it hard to click and reposition each page repeatedly.

I'm a medical social worker and thought this was a very useful article. I am particularly grateful to see the inclusion of some of the symptoms of Inflammatory Breast Cancer. It is critical for women (and men) to get to a breast cancer specialist as quickly as possible if symptoms do not respond to antibiotics after a week. I was diagnosed with IBC a year ago. I have been through chemo, mastectomy and radiation. Through the grace of God, I had a Complete Responce (No Evidence of Disease) following treatment recommended by Duke Univ Med Center's Breast Program. But, it is a highly aggressive disease. You MUST be assertive if it is dismissed as mastitis but doesn't respond quickly. IBC does Not show up generally on a mammogram. Get an ultrasound and breast MRI. We all know our bodies best.....just listen and act. Empower yourself by looking up Inflammatory Breast Cancer on the internet. Thanks!

Although some of the signs of cancer were familiar to me, your article made me aware of many signs of cancer that would surely go unnoticed. Two of my friends are battling cancer presently and the more cognizant we become of telltale changes in our bodies, the better armed we become in dealing with the disease in our loved ones' bodies as well as our own.

I have had a cronic cough for 6 months. I have had quite a number of tests for lung, brain and throat cancer, as well as, MS. My symptoms most closely mimic those of a thyroid issue. I am already a breast cancer survivor. I am not afraid of the diagnosis, I would just like a cure. This gives me something else to address. Thank you.

Anonymous said about 1 year ago

I was hoping that my problem would have been discussed. I am 69 years old and I have been bleeding - brownish in colour for over a year now. I've had the pap, vaginal ultrasound, D & C and the gyneocologist and my family doctor and myself do not know where it is coming from. Sounds strange but, after the D & C and biopsy we still do not know (there was no blood showing up vaginally) So they are sending me to an urologist for testing. Pain/cramps in the pelvic area were common at first but, not so much now. I am fatigued and have little energy and I like to sleep a lot although that may be because of my depession. Can you suggest something for this situation. I feel that something is wrong inside my tummy, from the waistline down. I had a colonoscopy about 5 years ago and that showed clear. There was a CT scan done at that time and the surgeon said I had a couple of fibroids on my ovaries but, not to worry about it at that time. That was 5 years ago, could they have multiplied and become diseased since then? Also, when this brownish blood problem started I gained weight - about 30 lbs but that didn't seem to bother my family doctor. I have also developed constipation which I never had before, I am vegetarian and eat lots of fibre. Can you please help me or suggest perhaps some testing that would give me the answer. Thank you, Bettie

this was a new one to me: 18. A sore or skin lump that doesn't heal, becomes crusty, or bleeds easily. Most of us know to watch moles for changes that might indicate skin cancer. But other signs, such as small waxy lumps or dry scaly patches, are easier to miss. Familiarize yourself with the different types of skin cancer -- melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma -- and be vigilant about checking skin all over the body for odd-looking growths or spots. A beautician inquired about a "dry scaly patch" on my skull, behind my ear--I said, "Oh, I just put Vitamin E oil on it, and it goes away." I had told her I was a 6 year breast cancer survivor, and had basal cell carcinoma on my nose two yrs ago. She advised me to get it checked out. The biopsy came back 12/27--another basal cell carcinoma. Surgery is scheduled for January 3 2010. I'm going to forward this article to my adult kids. Thanks, Elizabeth

Wonderful article!!

Anonymous said about 1 year ago

This is a good article for a layperson. I would suggest that melanoma be added to this list. It is a major killer of women and is one of the silent killers. I was diagnosed 6 months ago, had surgery (a giant scar on my leg) and had lymph nodes removed. Luckily for me, my lymph nodes showed no sign of metastases, but melanoma can spread to many other organs and is not easily treatable once that happens. Once yearly skin checks by a dermatologist and vigilant monitoring of skin changes (plus staying out of the sun, SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, and more SUNSCREEN is the best prevention). My melanoma was caught by at my annual dermatologist visit.

I just lost my 52 year old sister to Stage IV ovarian cancer on 9/18/2010. Dx in Feb 2009 and after 22 rounds of chemotherapy. She leaves behind not only a grieving younger sister but a 17 year old daughter. She was a single parent. Don't let this happen to you. Even if you don't have insurance find a way to have things checked out.

You discussed Inflammatory Breast Cancer in this artilcle: Please add the following information: Inflammatory Breast Cancer (rare, but aggressive and deadly) is often mis-diagnosed. If you have symptoms of a breast infection that doesn't clear up after two rounds of antibiotics, immediately seek out a breast specialist. (in Memory of Galya, 42, who left behind two children (6 & 9) and a loving husband)

After caring for two elderly parents and husband in their final days, I appreciate the article about the warning signs of cancer. There has been some cancer in my family history, from breast cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostrate cancer. If we knew some of these signs and paid attention to the warning signs, a lot of suffering may have been avoided. We should all look out for the little repeated signs and possibly save lives or at least prolong them.

I am a reyired Railroad worker. A little over 15 mon. ago I was dienosed with Multiple Myeloma. I hurt my back while moing my yard. I went to a Chiropractor for some help. After two week of treetment the DR. told me I should be 80% better with the treetment I was gitting, but I was no better than when I started. He told me I needed to get an MRI. The MRI showed that I had cracks and lesions in my bones. The DR. said that could olny be caused by a cancre. I saw a cancer DR. He told me that UAMS in Little Rock, AR. was the best place in the world for the treetment for my type cancer. After I got there I met people from all over the USA and several other Countries. It seems that people with Multiple Myeloma that come to UAMS first, do a lot better than the ones that are treeted some were else first then come to UAMS. When I first got to UAMS I was told that I had the cancre in about 50% of my bones. The DR. told me that this cancer was not cureable at this time, but it is treetible. I have been in remition now for about five mon. and I steel take treetments and go back for tests every three mon. I can highly recomend UAMS, Doctors and Nurses for the treetment they give.

I am a 52 year old, white female and I was diagnosed w/bladder cancer (malignant tumor in my bladder) after a year of noticing spotty bleeding after I urinated. I never experienced any pain & the blood was sometimes apparent and sometimes not. I talked to several of my doctors (nephrologist (kidney), gynecologist) and also had a colonoscopy. It wasn't until I saw a urologist who performed a cystoscopy that the tumor was discovered. I underwent surgery and the tumor was removed using a cystoscope. I was subsequently treated w/BCG immunotherapy and am happy to report that almost 2 years after surgery, I am still cancer-free. Had I not been diligent in pursuing a diagnosis for the bleeding, the cancer would have continued to spread and may have eventually taken my life. My advice to others would be to take the initiative to obtain a diagnosis as soon as you can for any unexplainable bleeding. Early diagnosis and treatment, most certainly, saved my life!

I am totally frustrated with the health care system. My husband and I have had insurance with little cause to use it and now that were older and need attention - the thousands of dollars invested allows us nothing but grief . The insurance has gone to pot as far as what they cover and even what they cover is very little and you pay more for it. The health care has separated into so many specialties you spend days going from one to the next ,one test , advice given when there's no communication between offices. Charts are lost - messages or test results forgotten - and your the one waiting and paying for attention and the end result is your a no. not a person. I can't blame people such as myself who have lost faith in the ability to get quality care. How can you put your trust in so many strangers who wouldn't know you on the third or fourth visit because they have a protocol to answer to and their main concern is how many patients they can see in a day.All the fuss in the media over everyone's right to health insurance. How about those who have been paying out the **** and not to mention paying for all the emergency trips of those who have no insurance. The uninsured get help just as equally if not more than those who pay and don't even worry about all the bills that are outside the original visit. Lab tests - technician who reads test- the lists go on as do the bills that seem like you will never be able to pay. Every one seems to want you to do their leg work to correct their mistakes only because you paid attention to the bills coming in and didn't just pay because they said so. No matter how much you ask to be allowed information concerning your health you are led to believe it is not yours to have - like it is some kind of medical privilege that the doctors can use to manipulate you. You are not allowed to participate in your own health as to procedures or educated research . You make doctors angry if you inquire about any information you may have found. "Every one thinks they're a doctor now that they have computers ." I'm tired of being treated as if I'm a rat in a medical experiment. It seems as if we have to do it all so why should we go to doctors ? No matter how upset I get it is to no avail - you have no rights ! They play -We pay -We pay and pay !!! I don't have the required education that it takes to be a doctor and never pretend to take that respect away from those that do - Why must i be belittled because I don't have your education. I pay your bills -you new equipment - I fill that should allow me some respect in return . What's wrong with this world when compassion has been taken out of the most precious career a person could have ? I could have a serious problem that is just waiting to take my life and if my heart still ticks and I'm not bleeding to death there's nothing you can do for me, because your to busy looking for horses not zebras. People have to be at death's door to get medical attention and then it is to late. Or You have to be rich enough to stay healthy. It's only a co-pay I'm told I'd have to pay -but they don't tell you that co-pay will have to be paid 4,5,6xs that week as your pimped out from one doctor to another. I'm going to get you scheduled for an M.R.I. -that will only cost 500$ x-rays $$$$ blood work $$ so on and so forth - before you know it your buried in bills and the first thing the doc. told you on your visit is not to stress. Well I wasn't stress ed until all this began. So when that 911 call comes through and it's to late tell them my story - will ya !

Please include possible signs of thyroid cancer - it is always left out articles discussing cancer. I am living with medullary thyroid cancer and the main symptom was fatigue and lump on my neck.

Hello, I was diagnossed with hep c 9 years ago. At time of diagnosis I had good health insurance. I kept up on my blood screening. My doctor said he didn't see any reason so take a interferin treatment. My disease at that time was inactive, and his reasoning was that with the harshness of the treatment, that I should wait for a easier treatment. But since then I've lost my healthcare. I've not seen a Dr. for 6 1/2 years How do I find a Dr. that I can afford. I know I really need to be seen.

Recently a family member was diagnosed with breast cancer of a different sort; we are now starting chemo ,radiation again because of the aggressive nature of the cancer . The remission period was about 2 years and the sign this time were different than last . So we hope and pray this series of chemo will keep the beast @bay for a longer time than last.

I wish I had seen this article months ago, around the first of the year my non-smoking grandmother "91" went to the dr's for pain in the shoulder, physical therapy for a couple of months, nothing, then she wasnt feeling well and I took her to the dr's expecting pnemonia, sent home with treatment. a week later took her to hospital found stage 4 lung cancer, one month later I lost her. this scares me because I smoke, have diabetes, high blood pressure, and high colesterol .. i am tired all the time and have no energy, Im sure part of it is depression, but Im concerned for my own health.

This is a really good source of information & I too had some symptoms that one specialist kept trying to tell me that a lump in my neck was "normal", when in fact it was not. luckily I found a really good surgeon who took care of it in time & no it was not normal, but is all good now thanks to him.

After a few years of blood clots after menopause, I then had a small stroke and an aneurism in my skull. Then, I started to have heavy menstrual-type cramping and bleeding. I went and had a pap that revealed Uterine cancer, stage 2. Thanks to Truman Hospital, they gave me a complete hysterectomy with follow-up radiation at St. Lukes on the Plaza for 4 months daily. Now a year later I am cancer free. After talking to people, I asked how I could have gotten this cancer. Someone told me something that really made sense. It was possible that at some time in my life I was exposed to HPV and that it was the probable cause. If this is true, then, everyone out there with women in their lives, insist they get the vaccination and spare them possible future pain.

I have many of these symptoms but no health care. I always go to Doc-in-the-Box (Emediate Care) for my health care needs. Is there a way to get tested for these things with out having a primary care physician? Can I buy test kits on line?

To the individual who gets tired rather quickly... have your blood sugar checked when you experience it. I noticed how energetic I was during the day, but after a meal would get extremely tired all at once. It was low blood sugar - hypoglycemia. Simple fix, just eat smaller meals and protein snacks inbetween to help avoid the spikes and lows. Next time it happens, try a hand full of protein like walnuts. I must admit, it sure helps if you have some idea of what is ailing you before you go to the doctor.

God bless you for your health articles which help many people. I had a terrible pain for 13 years which no doctor could find why. this pain was so terrible that I if it hit me somewhere everybody would know it because it made me bend down, and also made me vomit. My stomack used to hurt very much, my chest and my lungs would get full of air. it was more terrible than labor pains [i had 3]-- After 13 yrs. of doctors seeing me, my family doctor, bless his heart [Dr. Detwiler] decided to send me for an MRI-- { I had others before, w/no results, this MRI showed that i had a stone on the common duct. Doctors have taken my appendix out, thinking that this was the cause of my pains. Another time they took my gall bladder out [both times the pain continue [a pain that would leave me weak after, as weak as if i had walke many miles and my heart pounding and a sore stomach, Well after the mri showed the stone i had an ERCP to remove it where they had to touch my pancrea and i got pancreatitis. i lost a lot of weight. Two months later the pains started again as terrible as before. Landed again in the hospital and had to have another ERCP becausse i had another stone in the liver which he removed, Since then i get pains on my right side [under the ribs] which i believe that is where my liver is. I cannot eat too much because with a little bit i get so full as when i used to eat a lot. A tube inserted thru my mouth shows that i don't empty my stomach fast and that i have a small tummor in my stomach--but that is benign. Can you tell me something about this by email, Thank you and God bless you, NM my email is anmayer15@aol.com

This article was very helpful to me. I have been telling anyone who will listen about my symptoms, the problem is they just don't seem to care. I have an appointment with my family dr tomorrow. If it doesn't go well, I'm not sure what I will do. I can't live like this, that much I do know. My mom is a breast cancer survivor. I have been without insurance for a few years now, so I haven't had a mammogram. I am having a LOT of pain in my left breast accompanied by sharp shooting pains, swellling, and it feels warm. This has been going on for some time off and on but more recently has stayed irritated for weeks. I have been to the ER twice and they haven't found anything wrong with me. I feel like I'm going crazy! They say that breast cancer is not painful so it can't be that. I just want to find out what it is and get it fixed! I have also been very tired, dizzy, lack of appetite, back pain, pain in my left arm and under it. I plan on having a mammogram on Oct.26, if I can wait that long.

I do believe that the amount of cancer that is showing up in the human life track is caused be diet. Commercial grown everything is going to kill everyone do to the hormones fed to animals and pesticides sprayed on fruits and vegetables. Our bodies are not capable of warding off thses poisons. This is just my opinion. I plan to grow my own everything in the future..

(I come against these horrible deasies in the name of jESUS), You have got to get tuff with the devil, deamond and principalities that we fight against every day. Open your BIBLE find all the healing schriptures read them over and over to yourself declair them over yourself memorize them, Plead the blood of Jesus over yourself, walk in faith that you will be held. You can look up the healing verses on the enternet. The LORD wont's us to have life and have it more abundtly, but you have to take it. I know it's easy for me to say these things, because i don't have these sickness, I know with every thing in me my god does mericals. Our bodys are the timple of God and he wont's us to be healthy, and know he loves each and every one of us. And if you do your part and stand on his word you will be heald in the name of JESUS. DO IT.

I am 27 years old, and this fact alone makes any thoughts of cancer seem absurd to most. I had a baby recently, she is 16 months old. My doctors tell me all my woes are "just being a new mom". I am always so tired, even now that she sleeps through the night. I get sick all the time, almost every two weeks. That doesn't seem normal. Now, I have a small hard lump in my breast, well it is more between my breast and my underarm. I still am breast feeding, and I haven't been doing breast exams because of this, but I just sort of ran across it the other day. I don't want to over react. What do you think???

A year or so ago I started losing weight, in that last year I lost about 70 pounds. I also had digestive problems, food didn't taste right, mouth was very dry, felt tired, constipation and diarrhea. I was taking care of two mentally challenged females for about 11 years. This was causing stress for about the last years. I gave the last one up back in October 2008. I was feeling not right and thought maybe I had IBS. I had some of the same symptoms that my daughter was diagnosed. I thought it would get better that the clients were no longer with us. I was so wrong. In February 0f 2009 I thought I was having gallbladder problems and on the 28th I had my husband bring me to Emergency Room. I really got a surprise, even tho it showed I had gall stones. They gave me CT Scan, EKG and did blood work. That showed I was very anemic, I was admitted were they immediatley gave two pints of blood that evening and two more the following morning. I also had an colonosopy and Utra Sound showing I had a tumor in the large intestine, which they took out 2 days later. It show carcinoma and they also took lypm nodes out finding only one to be cancerous. The surgeon was quite sure they had gotten it all. The operation was on March 4th, Left the hospital on March 8th. I have gotten my strength back, also put some weight on. Have not had have Chemo or radiation, I am doing a healthier diet and exercise. I guess this show you shouldn't second guess. I have been healthy all of my life, only been in the hospital for tonsillactomy, at (5) years old and to give birth to 4 babies. Have not had to take prescriptions and still don't today. Now I go to doctors regularly, so far so good. I know my family and friends keep me in there prayers. So it showed I should of taking care of myself better. I am praying that this does not come back. I know what it feels like to have a serious illness. God Bless Jean feeling healthier.

I just ran across this article about the different sympomts of so many types of cancsr and am very surprised by the sympoms that I have for several of these cancers. I am very scared because it brought some things into perspective for me. I am 49 years old and HAD & STILL HAVE symptoms of at least 4 different types of cancers. I am calling my primary care physician TOMORROW and DEMAND that he order an ultrasound of my abdomen, lungs, liver & chest area done and have these places on my face looked at again (which have been frozen once but have come back in less that 2 months) because I KNOW they are skin cancer & because there is no other explaination. Right now, my main concern is #1.when I try to eat ANYTHING, I hurt severely in my upper back, #2. I then get very nauseated & have to make myself throw up as soon as the food hits my tummy,(and this is continually happening EVERY day.. and #3. I have had a toilet full of bright red blood in the toilet after a bowel movement twice in the past 9 days (that is when the tummy problem started). I actually saw a doctor when this occured while we were out of town and he said it HAD TO BE the ulcer that I told him that was discovered about 10 years ago. BUT, I DO KNOW 1 THING AND THAT IS THAT I WILL FIND A DOCTOR AND/OR DOCTORS THAT BETTER HELP ME AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.I am tired of being sick and being prescribed (and taking) everything they give me because it isn't helping me to be able to eat nor is the pain any less. I just pray that God will see me through this and help me find a physician that will take the time to help me. I am the youngest of 12 children, both of my parents died from cancer (in their old age) but I also have 1 sister to die from colon cancer when she was 35 years old. She lasted 3 months & 11 days from the night she was admitted to the hospital. NO doctor will put me to sleep or even administer a "local" in order to do a colonoscopy because I have "Siezure-like activity", which they CAN"T diagnose???? BUT, after reading this article, I WILL be getting some answers, hopfully. We have insurance, thank God, and I am going to put it to use. If there is ANY Physicians that can or will help me, PLEASE e-mail me with a phone number so I can get in touch. If anyone can help me, I PROMISE that He will bless you for helping me. by the way, my name is Rosa and thank you so very much and may God bless you all.

I appreciate all of these types of articles, but my problem is that I have yet to find a doctor that will listen to me tell him or her that I can become extremely exhausted in a second. When I try to talk to them about it, they want to give me antidepressants, and I am not depressed.. I am exhausted. Something is different about how I feel but no doctor that I have been too cares to find out why. It is very frustrating and I just stop telling them.

As a woman with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, I was very happy to see #14 and #15 listed. I've been trying to make the general public and the medical profession aware of these symptoms of IBC. Too many women are being misdiagnosed or having their diagnosis delayed because of lack of knowledge. I want to thank you for bringing these to the attention of your readers. I hope this article will be sent all over the world.

My disable daughter was diagnosed with cervic cancer in January 2009 and February 2009 she made her transition. It is all about the type of insurance that you have because six months before she was diagnosed with cancer we had a doctor appointment to see our regular physician but the clerk at the desk at Henry Ford Hospital looked in the system and told me she was not on my insurance and I asked could she see the doctor anyway and bill me and she told me no. I was going to get my insurance company to pay for it because she was my dependant with a disablility. But for some reason someone would always remove her from my benefits. Anyway six month later she was diagnosed with cervic cancer in the emergency room at Henry Ford Hospital. The only reason she got to see them is because the clerk in the emergency room knew she should have never been off my benefits and I gave her my insurance card and she keyed the information in. So it is ruff to get medical care in this city because no one want to go the extra mile if you do not have any money. Also I pay for dependent life insurance coverage and the place I work do not want to cover the final services expenses because she did not register herself with the Government after she turn eighteen of her disability so she don't meet the criteria but they steady remove the money out of my pay check. Life is really crazy. But to all make sure you memorize the symtoms and get it checked out with a medical doctor or an herbal doctor. I really don't understand why the medical insurance do not want to recognize herbal doctors. I would rather have the real ingredients verses a mixture of man made medication.
